Jamil Alyou

Jamil Alyou is a 30-year-old social worker who has been living in Germany since 2015. As a project manager working closely with young refugees and migrants and as a member of the Integration Council of the City of Dortmund, he has gained deep insights into the challenges and needs of people with a migration and refugee background.

Over the years, Jamil has built a strong network within the refugee and migrant communities across Germany, which enables him to effectively represent their interests. Fluent in German, Arabic and English, he acts as a cultural mediator, fostering understanding between communities and policymakers. He is passionate about advocating for inclusive political participation and improving the living conditions of refugees.

Motivation for Joining the RAB

As a member of the Refugee Advisory Board Germany, Jamil aims to amplify the voices of refugees in national and international policy discussions. His vision is to shape political processes that promote justice, equal opportunities and combat discrimination. Through transparent dialogue and collaboration with refugee communities, he strives to create long-lasting, positive change in their lives.
