Advancing Women’s Labour Market Participation
Zohra Wandaa and Nyima Jadama, members of the Refugee Advisory Board Germany (RAB Germany), recently attended the event “Stark. Qualifiziert. Auf dem Weg.” on 3 March 2026 in Berlin, hosted by Minister of State Natalie Pawlik.
The event brought together policymakers, experts and civil society actors to discuss women’s pathways to the labour market, with a focus on women with lived experience of migration and forced displacement. Discussions explored structural barriers such as the recognition of foreign qualifications, access to childcare, language acquisition and administrative hurdles.
Participants also addressed broader questions of labour market integration and gender inequality, highlighting the underutilised potential of migrant and refugee women and the gap between political awareness and implementation. The exchange emphasised the need for better-coordinated policies and targeted support.
The event offered valuable opportunities for dialogue and networking, helping to strengthen connections and identify potential avenues for future collaboration.
