Syrian Diaspora Voices in Focus: Exchange with the German Government 

Lehaz Aldarf, member of the Refugee Advisory Board Germany (RAB Germany), recently participated in an exchange hosted by the government with representatives of the Syrian diaspora in Germany. The meeting was held at the invitation of the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). 

The dialogue addressed key issues affecting Syrians in Germany, including residence status, online hate and safety, as well as future perspectives. It provided a platform for open exchange between policymakers and diaspora representatives on current challenges and policy considerations. 

During the discussion, Lehaz Aldarf contributed to conversations on residence status and highlighted the importance of sustained German government engagement in the reconstruction of Syria, with a particular focus on education and the empowerment of women and young people.
